Creating a Bespoke Micromarket for Ball Beverage UK
The Ask
Ball Beverage is the world’s leading provider of innovative and sustainable aluminium packaging for beverage, personal care, and household products. Following the construction of a brand-new manufacturing facility in the UK, Ball Beverage partnered with 2468 Group to create a modern and welcoming break space for its employees.
The brief was to design and deliver a Micromarket where staff could access fresh food and meals, great coffee, and convenient snacking options. The overarching aim was to create a space that enhanced the employee experience, providing a place to refuel, relax, and recharge during breaks.
The Solution
After multiple site visits to the newly built facility, 2468 Group designed a fully bespoke Micromarket and breakout area, tailored specifically to the needs of the workforce and the space available.
The solution included smart fridges stocked with a wide variety of high-quality food options, including:
- Heat-and-eat meals
- Pies and burgers
- Fresh sandwiches, wraps, and paninis
- Vegan and vegetarian options
The smart fridge technology was intuitive and easy to use, allowing employees to simply tap their card, select their items, and close the door.
To complement the food offering, we installed bean-to-cup coffee machines serving premium Ferns coffee, alongside a snack machine and chilled drinks machine, ensuring choice and convenience throughout the day.
The Result
The result was a vibrant Micromarket where employees can grab a coffee, enjoy lunch, and fully switch off during their breaks. A range of seating options allows staff to socialise with colleagues or enjoy some quiet time to relax.
The Micromarket delivers a large and varied product offering, catering to different tastes and dietary requirements. All project milestones were met, and the Micromarket was fully operational in time for the grand opening of the new facility.
This project successfully delivered a modern, functional, and engaging employee space—supporting wellbeing, convenience, and overall workplace satisfaction.
